Hi folks!

After a 11 hours lasting trip we arrived in Vancouver yesterday evening. We had a great 6-days-trip: Vancouver - Kelowna - Golden - Banff - Jasper - and back to Vancouver. Unfortunately the Blenz Coffee closes in about 5 minutes, so I will give you more details about our trip another time. However, the pictures are already uploaded. We took more than 350 ones, but only the best ones are in the picture gallery.

Now we can relax this weekend in the momentarily rainy Vancouver before we start our internships on Monday.

Ok guys, after reading Sven’s wonderful German articles you now have the pleasure to read mine written in english.

Sorry for all the Germans whose English is not the best but, you know, I also write for all the international students. (@Franzi: I have received your complaint, but I hope you haven’t got rid of your dictionary yet )

This week the 15th birthday of CSLI was celebrated. Among other things the Scavanger Hunt in and around CSLI took place where students had to find out lots of (more or less important) information about the school. Of course Sven participated with I think more enthusiasm than every other student. I was too lazy, honestly. However, Sven was the second and won the 2nd CSLI-shirt and 2nd chocolate during this 4-weeks-stay.

Today our final Graduation Party took place in school. It was a very good party, we enjoyed it a lot. After that all the students were invited by the school to go to the Tinseltown-cinema. We chose the movie “Resident Evil”, very brutal but entertaining

Today we were also very fast in uploading the pictures, you can find them all in the “PICTURE GALLERY“.

Finally, I have to say that Sven and I are very sad to leave the school because we liked studying and the people there and we felt very comfortable. Thanks to all the new friends from all over the world that we got to know, to all the teachers and the staff who were always very friendly and helpful.

Next week we’re going to the Rocky Mountains on vaccation, so CU after that!

Hallo Guys,
wie schon im letzten Beitrag beschrieben war Montag Zeit für Sport. Zusammen mit einigen Klassenkameraden sind wir am Montag zu einem Ice Hockeyspiel gegangen. Die Vancouver Canucks hatten ein Pre-Seasion Game gegen die Anaheim Ducks. Die Stimmung im Stadium war echt gut, obwohl ein Bier über 7 Dollar gekostet hat. Das Spiel war sehr spannend und aufregend. Zum Ende der dritten-Periode stand es dann zwei zu zwei, so daß der Sudden Death entscheiden musste. Leider haben die Canucks nach 5 Minuten ein Tor kassiert, so dass das Endergebnis 2:3 lautete.

Aber dafür hat uns jetzt der Hockey Virus erfasst ;),

Hallo Homes,
How are you?? Here some infos about the last shoot galleries.

Saturday was Football time. Together with a classmate I visited a Game of the Bc Lions. The Bc Lions played against the Toronto Argonauts. It was a nice evening and we had a lot of fun. The game was very successful for the BC Lions, because they won 40 : 7.

The Friday Activity this week was a tour to whistler. We used the day to go up to the peak of the whistler mountain with a gondola. On the way back to whistler village we had the fortune to see a bear.

Last Thursday there was Korean Night. The Korean Students chose a nice traditional restaurant in Downtown. The waiters served some handsome traditional Korean food. After 2 ! hours eating every guest thank about to starve the next days. After the meal we drank al lot of suso (a traditional Korean liquor). On Friday a great Headache accompanied us.

Today it is the last day in school for Sven and me. It was also one of the hardest days we had because Sven went to an interview this morning for his internship and I had to lead a discussion with my Thai colleague Vassana. We did the same discussion as we did last week, but today only students from other classes participated who where not familiar with the topic. This made it more difficult for us, but even though we did a good job

Sven did a good job in his interview as well. They were enthusiastic about him and now he is going to work near the school in a software company. That fits him!

Heute hat in der Schule ein Contest stattgefunden, in dem man Fragen über Kanada beantworten musste - kanadische Persönlichkeiten, Geographie, Geschichte… Sven hat teilgenommen. Nach einigen harten Fragerunden konnte er sich gegen 25 andere Schüler durchsetzen und ins Finale einziehen. Die Finalefrage war: Was war am 01.04.1999 ???
(* Na wer kennt die Antwort *)
Sven hat sie gewusst und ist ERSTER geworden.
kein Wunder, er hat gestern Nachmittag am Strand die ganzen Fragen gelernt. Er hat ne Schachtel Belgische Schokopralinen, eine Kinokarte und ein CSLI-Poloshirt gewonnen. Ich hab erst gar nicht teilgenommen, weil ich mich überhaupt nicht vorbereitet hatte. Stattdessen musste ich in meiner Leadership class mit Halsschmerzen eine Diskussionsrunde über die Prävention von Schlaganfällen und Herzinfarkten leiten. Beim nächsten Contest in 2 Wochen sind wir leider nicht mehr in der Schule, sondern in den Rocky Mountains.

Letztes Wochenende haben wir mit dem Mietwagen einen Trip nach Vancouver Island unternommen. Es war superklassetoll! Haben innerhalb von 2 Tagen etwa 300 Fotos geschossen und 4 1/2 Orte besucht (Tofino, Ucluelet, Port Alberni und Victoria - durch einen Ort, dessen Namen ich schon wieder vergessen habe, sind wir nur ganz kurz durchgefahren) Eine “kleine” Auswahl der schönsten Fotos findet ihr in der Bildergalerie, wobei es sehr schwer war, überhaupt die schönsten rauszusuchen, weil wirklich alle schön sind. OK, ich will euch jetzt nicht neidisch machen, deswegen höre ich jetzt lieber auf zu schreiben ;-).

PS: Hier noch kurz was wir so an diesem Wochenende gemacht haben: wale watching in Victoria, hicking in the only rainforest in Canada, Relaxing on long beach, sightseeing usw. Die Bilder sind auf jeden Fall einen Blick wert

Hallo Blogleser,
am Sonntag haben wir wieder einige Fotos im Fotoalbum veröffentlicht, hier noch einige Infos was wir so gemacht haben:
Am Montag hat mir Christine das Downtown von Vancouver gezeigt. Wir sind von der Schule aus zum Seewall (Hafenpromenade von Vancouver) gegangen und von dort aus zum Stanley Park. Dann weiter zum British –und Sunset Beach und dann nach ca. 3 Stunden langsam nach Hause ;).

Am Mittwoch war Brasilian Night am Kits Beach. Die Brasilianischen Studenten haben eine landestypischen Speise gezaubert, die man als Bohnensuppe mit Würstchen und Fleisch deuten könnte, dazu gab es Reis und zum Nachtisch Schokolade aus der Schweiz. Im Anschluss ans Essen haben wir uns dann am Beach Volleyball spielen versucht. Nach einem romantischen Sonnenuntergang ging´s dann so langsam nach Hause.

Freitag fand kein regulärer Unterricht statt, statt dessen hatte die Schule zu einer Schiffrundfahrt eingeladen. An Bord fand dann die Verabschiedung einiger Schüler statt und es wurden die Student of the class und der Student of he month bekannt gegeben. Der Schüler des Monat ist Bruno aus Brasilien geworden, das nur am Rande ;). Bruno hat einen Monat kostenlosen Unterricht von CSLI und einen Pokal geschenkt bekommen. Leider hat es am Freitag den ganzen Vormittag geregnet, so dass wir uns die gesamte Kreuzfahrt nur unter Deck aufhalten konnten.

Abends waren wir von unseren Vermietern zum Dinner eingeladen. Die Party entpuppte sich als Hinduistischer Gottesdienst. Es war sehr interessant daran teilzunehmen, da die Hinduistischen Gottesdienste ganz anderes ablaufen wie die Gottesdienste bei uns. Zum Glück haben wir an diesem Abend Ingmar kennengelernt. Ingmar kommt ursprünglich aus Nürnberg, wohnt aber schon seit 1999 in Vancouver. Er hat uns viel über die Religion des Hinduismus und den Ablauf ihrer „Gottesdienste“ erzählt.

Nach der Party haben wir uns ins Nachtleben von Vancouver gestürzt und uns die Nachtclubs auf der Granville St. angeschaut.
